When we first moved into the neighbourhood back in 2000, we had no idea how much of an event Halloween would turn out to be.

We grossly underestimated the number of trick-or-treaters who'd be storming our fortress, so much that when I made an emergency run for candy refills to the local Shoppers, mobs of costumed prepubescents were following me along the sidewalk as I was tearing open the bags!

Over the years, our display has remained pretty much the same--but always a popular draw, despite its lack of a coherent theme. And after nine years, not one visitor has yet to "get" the Carrie White joke--I thought Stephen King was the most popular author in the English language!...
