It's where Garrison Greek Community Daycare Centre gets its name...seriously: Old Fort York was our next stop on our Canada Day trek, an entirely appropriate indulgence considering it is a historic site commemorating Upper Canada's stronghold against American invasion (painstakingly rebuilt after having been destroyed during the War Of 1812, also serving as barracks in WW1 and 2). It was conveniently on the way home, and offering free admission on Canada Day, so why pass it up? The boys were a little too young to appreciate the strategic layout and the vintage firepower (canons!), but they were mightily enchanted by the passing choo-choo...
