July Vacation: Return To Storyland!

Well, my return, that is--"Storyland", situated somewhere in the wilds between Cobden and Renfrew, was a frequent destination for school trips during my public school years in the 1970s. While certainly no animatronic on the level of Epcot or Canada's Wonderland, "Storyland" affords a scenic tour amidst various displays based upon classic fairy tales ranging from Aesop to Carroll (the Queen Of Hearts briefly stopped by to say hello) to Hans Christian Anderson and even works in some local Ottawa Valley folkore. Best of all, no lineups and the chance for the boys to get up close to the various characters and real-life animals within reach. And at the end of it all, a splash pad and playground that the boys enjoyed and a romp that will go undocumented due to my camcorder's battery conking out just as we approached the grounds...
except for one last lucky burst of the shutter....
