Block Party

Having twins throws the whole concept of "subtlety" completely out the window--everything's times-two, including birthdays. So why not have two parties? And why not have the second one even bigger than the first? That was the plan last week when a group of us decided to celebrate several December birthdays with one epic bash. Our indefatigable upstairs neighbour Monique W. took the helm as party planner and secured our complex's party room, arranged for food, decorations, and of course, many, many guests (apparently, she never sleeps). Her son Gabriel was turning 3, Remy 2, and superstars Carter and Nathaniel had just surpassed an amazing 1--forming a perfect countdown to a great day, complete with many guest stars, including Nona, cousin Kayla, and annointed "aunties" Robin and Jackie. The boys definitely enjoyed all the frenzied company, even if they were on the verge of being stepped on by rowdy toddlers at every moment! Dad provided the entertainment (thank you, Pixar!) and clicked away with his various toys. Here are some highlights:

  1. it was a super fun day. i'm so glad to have been part of the boys 1st birthday. thanks for inviting me!

  2. Thank you for the wonderful gift! The boys play with it, Maggie sleeps on it...everyone's happy!
