Six Degrees Of Mr. Bacon...

Who knew there was a world-wide demand for bacon-related merchandise? First the Ikea sandwich kit, which comes with two felt strips, then of course, the piece-de-resistence--the talking "Mr. Bacon"--who was adopted by our household this past Xmas (there's a "Smoky Bacon" toy in Japan, too--literally, a bacon strip slice smoking a cigarette, but this is a non-smoking home, real, fake, or otherwise).

Today, while in line at The Silver Snail, I couldn't resist the latest offering of faux-pork-loin--"Shaky Bacon", whom the boys greeted with much enthusiasm this evening. I once designed a comic book character called "Bacon Boy" as an audition piece for an animation company some years back--maybe it's time to revive him and finally win that fortune?

Up, Up, And Away?

The boys rush to the second floor for baths and another encounter with "the big TV"(the cats are hiding under the bed)...

Calling All Movers!

It took every second of the promised 4-6 weeks for delivery, but today, the boys' membership to the "official" Imagination Movers Fan Club finally arrived! In addition to an autographed poster of the boys' "other" favorite Fab Four, it also contained a membership card that offers Dad 30% off merchandise from the online giftshop. 30% plus the dollar at par? What do I order first?

Plus--Mom wrote Playhouse Disney Canada to ask why we're still stuck in repeats up here and why their new concert movie didn't premiere north-of-the-border either, and got the following response:

"I contacted our Programming department, and although I can't confirm the
specific dates at this time, new episodes of "Imagination Movers" and
their concert film are tentative scheduled for the summer."

We're on top of the important stuff!

The Next Level

On my way back to work after a rare lunch break, the boys surprised me by waving farewell from the upstairs window! To witness such joy certainly makes riding out the rest of a dismal day a lot more bearable...love you boys...

"Illogical"

When Nathaniel puts his mind to something, he does it B-I-G. His current obsession is Mr. Spock's famous adage "illogical", thanks to my cheapie Burger King toy that I left lying around somewhere. Carter loves The Beatles, Nathaniel's focused on old "Star Trek"--obviously my influence is more pronounced than I expected. Still, I feel a tremor of guilt--am I raising children to think the year is 1966?

Counting To Four

Carter vcame back from Shelly's Monday with a snazzy foam Number Four--his favorite number, naturally--just like in the Feist video, but it's just a loaner! She expects it back when you return--after all, who ever heard of "1, 2, 3, 5"...?

Carter's New Favorite Song!

In less than 24-hours, Carter has found a new favorite song. Also from The Beatles' "Help!", it's now "Ticket To Ride". He was even pretending to fall down on the kitchen floor, like the Fab Four were slipping in the show.

Think we can work through all of the songs on the album? Daddy's favorite is "I've Just Seen A Face"....

Risky Business Redux

Our neighbour Monique--Gabriel's mom--sent us this photo today of Carter from a session at Shelly's last month. Nice 80s look there, Carter--too bad you wouldn't wear the sunglasses we bought you!

Hey!!!

Last weekend, we put on the Beatles movies "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" for Carter and Nathaniel as we played in the kitchen, and while the boys kinda-sorta looked up at the screen, they were more interested in their favorite books and toys. Well, something must have stuck, because today, Carter found a clip from "Help!" on YouTube and must've played it at least two-dozen times! "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" (both he and Nathaniel know when to yell out the "hey!" part) is now his new favorite song, and it's a good one...

Oh, The Places You'll GROW...

Is it me, or is Nathaniel getting taller?

Carter's Latest Photo Essay...

Benched!

Think He'll Still Be Doing This In 14 Years?

Hair Triggers

Carter and Nathaniel finally had a chance to talk to Nanny on the phone from Pembroke this evening--too bad she couldn't see them, because they were each sporting snazzy new short(er) 'dos. Haircuts don't happen too often around here--their father's influence, perhaps--and when they do, it's like trying to sheer a rabid sheep. Strapping them down in the high chairs was a big help, and after much screaming, it was all over in seconds. Looking good boyos!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!!!

The boys extend a very special benchmark birthday wish today to their Grandma from Pembroke--happy 65th!--who they hope to see again soon! The Hulk is crying and the robot broke the cuckoo clock--you've gotta come back as soon as you can!
