Mom's Birthday Present

Mom celebrated her birthday in Queen West style--a custom Beatles dress from longtime cool boutique Peach Berserk, and Carter was quick to identify all the members and the album covers...

Rested And Rarin'...

After naps (well, Carter had one--Nathaniel's brief snooze at Sherway proved to be more than enough for him) we brought along Supes and the Froggy Ball to the park to enjoy a perfect afternoon. Adding the fun was a surprise appearance by Karren, looking after Gabriel for the afternoon while his parents were away. Swings, slides, and sandboxes were thoroughly explored and after more than an hour-and-a-half it was time to head back home for a proper dinner...

Shopping Spree...

With news of the availability of cool Star Wars shoes (thanks to a coworker of mine, whose son is three), we headed out to Sherway Gardens--our former favorite consumer haunt--where we were able to score under a single pair in the boys' sizes at Olly's (but the nice folks there have assured us another is on the way). After an early lunch in the food court (pizza! pasta! New York Fries! but I couldn't get either of them to sample my Thai pad-sew noodles), we checked out the rampaging kittens at PJ's Pets (as well as bunnies and birds), Pottery Barn Kids (some nice Star Wars themed items), the new Lego shop (even more Star Wars), and picked up some cool duds on sale at The Gap (of the Superman variety). Carter was jazzed for the entire excursion (and embraced every opportunity to act silly and belt out a favorite Beatles song) but it was all a little bit too much for Nathaniel, who nodded off for a bit...
