June Pembroke Visit: Day One (pt 1)

Hard to believe it's been nearly a full year since we last visited Grandpa, Grandma, and Nanny in Pembroke--Pops' workplace woes cost us our planned late fall 2010 trip. But we hit the highway bright and early for the six-hour jaunt to the rustic north (which, to our amazement, did not require the presence of our new iPad 2), stopping in Belleville for a well-timed snack at A&W (one of the servers remembered the boys from last summer, and "Get Back" blared from the in-store stereo to Carter's delight), a diaper change at Tweed, and just as the boyos grew restless around Eganville (as per the norm) it was only a matter of minutes before we passed Irving Oil's Big Stop before arriving at our destination: Grandpa and Grandma's house! Unfortunately, Grandpa missed the arrival having been out on a bike ride, and it didn't take long for the boys to discover the cool stuff awaiting them in the garage...
