Pops had read almost all of Edgar Rice Burrough's "Mars" adventures before he was 12, so when Disney released a long-awaited film adaptation of the first installment (the books were written in the 1920s, and a film version has been planned for more than 75 years!), it was high on his must-see list. But the film turned out to be a huge flop, so we had to rush out to theatre before it disappeared. The ever-reliable Karren came in for an afternoon to look after The Dynamic Duo while we took in a matinee at the posh AMC at Yonge/Dundas. I thought the movie was just great and full of some of the best special FX I've ever seen (I'm not sure why it's not a hit) and one day, it'll be fun to show it to the boys...
After that, it was across the street to The Eaton Centre for an appointment at the Apple "Genius Bar" to replace our damaged iPad 2. Alas, we weren't able to score a replacement free of charge, but we did get a new unit for a decent, less-than-full-value price. Of course, before we headed back home, we ponied up for a durable case tested by the U.S. military. If life with twin three-year olds teaches us anything, it's that any item that can be shattered can, and will...
