Hearing Test

Another hearing test already? Nathaniel and I took the drive along College to Surrey Place for a follow-up hearing test with Jill, who's really very nice but Nathaniel hates Hates HATES having anything put in his ears (who doesn't?) which is the whole point of the test. Well, after much struggle, we got him to relax and he passed his test with flying colours, or audible ones, or something. I wish I could tell you it was all over, but we have yet ANOTHER test next week with Dr. Smitheringale, to see how the tubes are doing, one year later. We got back home just in time for baths and a round of silliness before bed...

  2. Hearing is a critical part of kid's social, emotional, and cognitive development. Even a mild or partial hearing loss can affect a child's ability to speak and understand language. Hearing loss is a common birth defect, affecting about 1 to 3 out of every 1,000 babies. A number of factors can lead to hearing loss, and about half the time, no cause is found. Thanks a lot.
