Thanksgiving 2012: Pt 1 (Happy Birthday Thomas)

After a turbulent September, what with the boyos off to school, the Toronto Film Festival, and Pops' busiest month of the year in terms of workload, Thanksgiving was a welcome escape from life on the mean streets of Toronto. After a typically long, congested ordeal along the 401, we arrived in Bowmanville to optimum weather.

It was a benchmark weekend in more ways than one: Thomas, who seemed about the size of Carter and Nathaniel not all that long ago, was celebrating his 18th birthday!

Carter improvised his own rockin' version of our national anthem...
The traditional shopping trip found Carter not terribly fond of Wal-Mart's inflatable Halloween cat, no matter what the location...

The costumes were already picked clean: good thing we picked up the boys' Avengers outfits last month...

After Nathaniel secured a new fire truck, and Carter expanded his superhero repertoire to include Captain America, we headed back to Wendy's house...

For an after-dinner stroll that found us pelted by rain for a grand total of about five minutes...

Not that it bothered Nathaniel, clearly having a great time...

Back in time to dry off and prep for the birthday celebration...

"Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania..."

Eighteen candles! Congrats, Thomas!
