Week Nine, Day One

 Hurricane Sandy...all day...

Which didn't amount to much locally--just a bit more rain than usual and a lot of hysteria over nothing. Mom and Pops had to leave a bit earlier than usual this morning for yet ANOTHER trip to Surrey Place for a meeting, so Karren took Nathaniel and Carter to school.

 The boys saw us off....
And as we arrived at Surrey, the rain was just starting to fall...
After work, Mom and Pops took in a fun night out just down the street at Bell Lightbox, home of the The Toronto Film Festival, for a rare screening of the largely forgotten "Love At First Bite" from 1979, with George Hamilton (as Dracula) and Susan St. James...one of Pops' favorite comedies as a youngster...

The James Bond exhibit had just launched--as TIFF members we get free admission so we'll have to plan our tour...
The man himself was there: George Hamilton, in town starring in "La Cage Aux Folles", just down the street at The Royal Alexandra Theatre...
Predictably tanned and fit at 72, George had clearly had some "work" done, but he was in great spirits and very warm and funny and eager to share some amazing stories about old Hollywood and the unique production history of the movie, which he developed and produced himself.  Hamilton introduced the film and then came back afterward for a lively Q&A with the modest audience of maybe 50 people...
Then, it was time for us to head home long King through the miserable downpour. The boys were asleep when we got home, but tomorrow, we'll reset the switch to "normal" and see how long that lasts...
